Elles n’illustrent pas des fables. Elles ne sont pas non plus des mises en scène spéculatives ouvertes sur la métaphysique. Mais une vérité forte comme le trait\, généreuse comme la rondeur des formes\, désolée toutefois comme cette lumière que l’encre dévore et qui ne sort jamais de sa solitude : cruelle réplique de l’œuvre à la douceur de l’être qui l’accomplit. \nDans le mouvement obsessionnel de son flux et reflux entre quelques formes de prédilection\, l’œuvre d’Hélène Csech évoque les fantasmagories qui sont nées autour des villes englouties\, des cités intérieures auxquelles personne n’aura jamais plus accès\, à leur faune et à leur flore désolée de n’être que ce qu’elles sont dans le silence. \nEmerge l’insecte\, mâtiné de crustacé\, coléoptère aveugle\, sourd\, muet\, paralytique aux membres ou mandibules rétractés\, tassé comme une forteresse. Plus loin d’autres animaux apparaissent représentant une faune plutôt mythologique\, extrême-orientale qui coururent les steppes barbares\, ceux-là sont des gardiens\, mais nul ne saurait dire ce qu’ils gardent. \nEt parmi eux se tiennent des oiseaux\, on peut penser qu’ils veillent\, qu’ils surveillent même\, de leur hauteur de rapaces\, alors que de loin en loin\, comme des bornes milliaires\, surgissent les apparences des humains\, hommes ou femmes\, doués de visage\, portrait de face\, corps assis. Il y a là des images très belles : les mains\, l’avancée de la face\, la courbure enveloppée de la chair. \nLes lignes courbes ont largement pris possession de l’espace graphique d’Hélène Csech. Depuis l’origine presque\, et sans doute parce qu’elles ont rapport aux origines\, on les voit envahir le champ\, se chercher\, se croiser\, se nouer\, développant\, d’un bout à l’autre de l’œuvre\, un vaste entrelacs\, une profusion d’arabesques. Le labeur\, pour en arriver là\, est prodigieux. Il donne la mesure d’une existence créatrice\, vouée à la même matière selon un petit nombre de techniques\, en sorte que la passion ne vise aucunement à multiplier ses empires mais à posséder toujours plus profondément son unique conquête. Croisant leurs pratiques depuis 2012\, les artistes fondent Le Tiers Visible en 2017 avec l’intention d’articuler leurs recherches visuelles et sonores à partir de la rue et des rencontres effectuées à Mexico\, Paris\, Marseille ou Rome. nous avons demandé à la designer Matali Crasset de partager son regard sur le fonds de l’artothèque. C’est dans sa maison studio\, au cœur du Belleville foisonnant que Matali Crasset vous reçoit. Cette femme\, en effervescence permanente\, super active et productive\, prend le temps de vous écouter attentivement et sans a priori. Ouverte sur les autres et curieuse de tout\, elle place le doute et l’imaginaire au cœur de sa pratique. Cette utopiste pragmatique conçoit son métier de designer comme une façon d’habiter autrement le monde pour cultiver notre capacité d’émerveillement et de vivre ensemble. Femme de convictions\, engagée sur les questions écologiques et sociales\, Matali Crasset n’hésite pas à sortir de sa zone de confort pour faire bouger les lignes et contribuer à rendre le citoyen acteur de la transformation de la société. Son rire généreux et communicatif est à l’image de sa personnalité : chaleureuse\, simple et authentique. \nSensible au travail de démocratisation mené sur le terrain par l’inventaire\, qui fait la part belle au collectif et au participatif\, Matali a répondu positivement à notre invitation à réagir autour de la collection en sélectionnant douze œuvres. Son choix s’est porté sur des artistes avec lesquels elle avait déjà développé des complicités\, comme Mzryk&Moriceau\, ou dont elle se sent en connivence\, comme avec Valérie Jouve et Daniel Nadaud. Soucieuse de varier les expressions et medium\, Matali a composé sa sélection de façon à partager un état des lieux du monde d’aujourd’hui à travers le regard des artistes. \nPlus qu’un plaisir esthétique\, elle accueille l’art avant tout comme un questionnement\, ce qui lui fait dire qu’elle préfère sortir d’une exposition en ayant plus d’interrogations que de certitudes.
