text_direction= »default »]En partenariat avec La Ville de Pessac et la Galerie Michel Rein\, Paris/Brussels \n  \nNé en 1977\, Raphaël Zarka vit et travaille en France. \nRaphaël Zarka s’exprime par la photographie\, le dessin\, la sculpture ou la vidéo. Sa démarche fait référence à la science\, l’industrie\, la philosophie\, à la recherche perpétuelle de nouvelles trajectoires. De trajectoires\, il en est question puisque l’artiste interroge la pratique du skateboard dans l’espace public. \nPour la série Riding Modern Art\, objet d’une édition en 2017\, Raphaël Zarka a assemblé un portfolio impressionnant\, constitué de photographies montrant comment les sculptures d’artistes tels que Pablo Picasso ou Richard Serra peuvent être transformées en half-pipes illicites ou en rampes de skate improvisés. \nIl collectionne les photographies de skateurs sur des œuvres d’art public publiées dans des magazines ou sur des sites Internet consacrés au skateboard. En 74 images\, le livre Riding Modern Art regroupe 48 sculpteurs et 66 skateurs documentés par 43 photographes aux quatre coins du monde. Il s’agit d’une réflexion sur la sculpture dans le cadre d’un questionnement plus général sur la notion d’espace public et des « pratiques d’espaces » des habitants\, proche des réflexions de Michel de Certeau. 51 de ces photographies sont exposées à l’artothèque. \n« Les passants\, les critiques d’art\, l’histoire\, jugent les œuvres d’art sur des critères esthétiques et conceptuels (c’est beau ou c’est intéressant). Les critères des skateurs sont avant tout mécaniques : l’intérêt d’une sculpture tient à la variété des mouvements qu’elle suggère. Plus irrévérencieuse que vandale\, cette pratique de l’œuvre d’art souligne le dynamisme explicite de tout un pan de la sculpture moderne. Sur des sculptures le plus souvent abstraites et géométriques\, d’inspiration cubo-futuriste ou constructiviste\, les skateurs rendent effective l’idée de mouvement littéralement mis en œuvre par les artistes. » Raphaël Zarka \nRaphaël Zarka a été exposé dans les plus grands musées : Tate Modern (Londres)\, Centre Pompidou Metz\, Palais de Tokyo (Paris)… Son travail est présent dans de prestigieuses collections comme le Centre Georges-Pompidou (Paris) ou le Musée d’Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris.
