Des curiosités et herbiers d’une nouvelle ère\, sortes d’offrandes à nos regards consumés\, édifiées par un artiste dont la précision\, le calme et la générosité invitent à une communion intime. » \nAndreas Lemaire \nLe travail de Justin Palermo est empli de poésie et de simplicité. Il glane les objets autour de lui\, chine dans les brocantes des photographies d’anonymes ou récolte des feuilles mortes\, des capsules de bouteilles\, des morceaux de papiers. Ces choses rassemblées ont déjà tellement d’histoire que son intervention se veut minime\, épurée. Fasciné par les accumulations anodines de la vie d’une personne\, par les traces et les résidus\, Justin Palermo façonne de nouvelles fictions\, qui ne se donnent qu’à demi-mots. Ainsi les feuilles seront brodées de fils colorés\, les papiers troués à l’aide d’une aiguille\, les visages des anonymes photographiés accompagnés de paillettes ou de confettis.
