ensemble d’œuvres de l’artiste Pascal Rivet (né en 1966). \nVoyant le jour dans le contexte du Tour de France\, Brest ville départ de l’édition 2021\, l’exposition est à la fois une occasion de découvrir un ensemble d’œuvres réalisées dans les années 90\, réactivées à l’aide de nouvelles productions et une célébration du cyclisme. \nFigure atypique de l’art contemporain français\, Pascal Rivet a toujours célébré le dialogue entre art et culture populaire. Fasciné depuis l’enfance par le cyclisme\, le football et la figure du champion\, il commence à produire des pièces dans les années 1990 qui témoignent de son intérêt pour le monde du sport\, son ambiance et l’imagerie qui y est associée. \nDans la galerie de l’artothèque\, l’artiste présente la série Revue de presse\, sculptures polychromes réalisées quotidiennement au lendemain de chaque victoire d’étape du Tour de France en 1993. La série des fanions Comment percer ! donne les clefs pour réussir une carrière de cycliste professionnel. \nLe travail des années 1993-94 sur le monde du cyclisme où l’artiste se met en scène dans des situations burlesques et « dérisoires » au service d’une carrière fictive de cycliste professionnel est présenté au sein des collections permanentes. La série Les Silhouettes\, ensemble de 10 silhouettes de bois peint représentant des champions cyclistes d’équipes professionnelles différentes permettent de se mettre dans la peau d’un coureur.
