Natures mortes\, objets usuels\, mais aussi scènes de vie ordinaires composent ce parcours qui incite à repenser notre rapport au monde et aux objets environnants. \nSans tenir compte de classements traditionnels\, les œuvres sont présentées par liens analogiques\, rencontres de gestes et de couleurs\, rapprochements de formes ou de lumières. Le dialogue entre les deux collections offre une approche originale des œuvres et en fait surgir des signes et des sens nouveaux. text_direction= »default »]Le RU – Repaire Urbain invite l’artiste Julien Parsy dans le cadre d’une exposition monographique d’envergure. Cette exposition donne la part belle à la peinture. Julien Parsy a su développer une œuvre picturale d’une très grande singularité. L’artiste\, né en 1972 à Angers\, a réalisé ses études à l’école des beaux-arts d’Angers et enseigne aujourd’hui à l’école d’architecture de Nantes. Son expérience de la peinture se manifeste par des intentions multiples où l’inattendu révèle le sujet par la couleur. Ces intentions peuvent être liées à la matière picturale mais aussi à différentes sources d’inspiration. « Ma peinture se compose de souvenirs personnels parfois liés à l’enfance\, d’intentions mythologiques\, de sentiments\, d’écritures\, de livres et évidemment en grande partie de peintures. Ces différents éléments se mélangent sans confrontation et se terminent en paysage. » \nSes œuvres viennent ainsi résonner avec différents courants de l’histoire de la peinture tels que le Romantisme allemand\, l’Expressionnisme allemand\, le Symbolisme\, le Quattrocento\, l’art médiéval et la peinture orientale. qualifiant lui-même d’artiste-peintre en bâtiment\, Christophe Cuzin peint de grands aplats monochromes qui interrogent les rapports entre la peinture\, la couleur et l’architecture et entre l’abstraction et la figuration. Artiste sans atelier\, il travaille toujours In situ : l’œuvre naît de l’architecture du lieu puis est vouée à disparaître à la fin de l’exposition. Seul restera alors le croquis\, à la fois prémisse de l’idée et trace du travail. \nPour la réalisation de ses œuvres\, l’artiste suit un protocole minimaliste\, sans place pour la subjectivité ni prouesse technique. Selon lui\, la véritable question\, ce n’est pas comment cela a été fait mais plutôt pourquoi on le fait. Cette recherche de la « non-prouesse » ouvre son travail à la délégation et à la collaboration. D’abord\, Christophe Cuzin fait un repérage du lieu\, puis il dessine cet espace à partir d’une photographie et il définit le protocole à suivre ; puis pour finir\, il le réalise. \nLes lieux choisis ne sont généralement pas spectaculaires et l’artiste s’attache à mettre en lumière des éléments architecturaux que l’on ne regarde pas toujours : souligner les arêtes des murs\, reproduire les façades et les déplacer ou encore indiquer les mesures de chaque murs. Il le dit lui-même : il n’invente rien mais il invite le spectateur à percevoir autrement le lieu. De ces prises de vue est né un voyage à distance\, finalement devenu nécessaire du fait du confinement. L’artiste a ainsi découvert ces lieux qu’il ne connaissait pas et les a ensuite réinvesti en les dessinant avec le logiciel Photoshop. \nCe choix d’un logiciel de retouche photo et non de dessin n’est pas anodin car l’artiste le considère comme un outil archaïque\, dans la lignée directe des machines Jacquard et des premiers ordinateurs\, dont les pixels noirs sur fond blanc formeraient les 1 et les 0 de son code. \nLa minutie du dessin\, pixel par pixel\, permet de s’arrêter sur chaque détail de la ville\, d’essayer de deviner ce qu’il y a précisément sur ces photos de lieux inconnus pour l’artiste et d’en modifier peut-être certains éléments. \nLes dessins ont ensuite été agrandis et imprimés sur des rideaux translucides et traversables. présentées vingt peintures de l’artiste. Souvent considéré comme la couleur des ténèbres et de la mort\, le noir est pourtant pour certains artistes un moyen d’explorer par contraste les nuances\, la texture dans un dialogue fait d’ombres et de lumière. \nL’exposition propose de croiser les regards sur les estampes de quatre grands peintres abstraits de la seconde moitié du XXe siècle extraites de la collection de l’artothèque. Tous ont en commun d’appartenir à une génération qui dans les années d’après-guerre revendique le geste et le signe et dont le travail est lié à une recherche permanente sur la lumière et la matière. \nIls entretiennent aussi une amitié et une proximité artistique\, œuvrant tous à un renouveau de la pratique picturale. Mogens Andersen et Pierre Soulages partageront une amitié qui commencera dès 1951 au Danemark et qu’ils ne cesseront de cultiver. André Marfaing et Olivier Debré célèbre leur amitié au point de réaliser parfois des œuvres en commun. pas ce qu’auront permis\, entre autre bienfaits\, les peintres de l’impressionnisme ? L’invention en 1841 du tube de peinture souple va littéralement révolutionner l’histoire de la peinture\, permettant aux artistes de sortir hors de l’atelier pour aller peindre à l’extérieur. En s’affranchissant des contraintes de la mimésis\, en exprimant les terribles passions de l’humanité au moyen du rouge et du vert (1)\, en s’emparant de la couleur comme principal outil de composition\, les impressionnistes ont ouvert une brèche dans laquelle se sont engouffrées les avants-garde. Brèche féconde qui\, in fine\, ouvrira la voie de l’abstraction. En ce début de XXIe siècle\, que doivent encore les artistes contemporains à ce mouvement qui a fait naître tant de bouleversements fondamentaux ? Un regard commun porté sur les choses de la vie\, une volonté de témoigner d’une société chamboulée par les innovations technologiques\, une posture anti-académique doublée d’une volonté d’indépendance. Témoignant de la vitalité et de la diversité de la scène artistique contemporaine\, Sérial couleurs fait dialoguer la peinture et la photographie\, le volume et l’installation et s’échafaude sur une double entrée : la couleur envisagée comme sujet-même de l’oeuvre et le recours à la sérialité. L’exposition réunit ainsi neuf artistes pour lesquels la couleur est\, en soi\, le principal champ d’expérimentation\, l’objet central de la démarche artistique. En écho à l’usage de la répétition du sujet chez des peintres comme Cézanne ou Monet\, elle porte une attention particulière au recours à la série. Suites\, variations\, déclinaisons\, répétitions : quelle soit ordonnée ou aléatoire\, hiérarchisée ou déstructurée\, la série et les paradoxes qu’elle soulève – singularité / pluralité\, écart / similitude\, continuité / discontinuité\, finitude / infinitude – constitue\, pour chacun des artistes de l’exposition\, un espace aux ressources inépuisables\, élargissant le champ des possibles. Encadrée par de rigoureux protocoles ou envisagée plus librement\, sans règles strictes ni contraignantes\, la sérialité relève toujours d’un engagement total.
